What motivated you to join Startup Sioux Falls as the Community Coordinator, and what are you most excited about in this role?
I worked as one of the first MVP interns at Startup Sioux Falls in the spring of 2023, and I truly enjoyed my time working with the team, helping to shape the new space, and connecting with founders, coworkers, and other community members. My motivation to return as the Community Coordinator stems from my passion for the mission and my desire to contribute to a community that fosters entrepreneurship. I’m excited to be a part of the team again and to see how the organization evolves and grows over time, all while supporting its development.
Can you share a bit about your background and any previous experiences that have prepared you for this position?
My background includes experience in system management/administration, project management, and IT/tech support, which I believe will be valuable for the more analytical and technical aspects of this role. My internship at Startup Sioux Falls also provided me with customer-facing experience and helped me connect with the individuals who make up this vibrant space. I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this role as well.
What projects or initiatives will you be focusing on and how do you hope to contribute to our community?
Startup Sioux Falls is an amazing place for founders, coworkers, and community members to connect. One of my main focuses will be spreading the word about the space and helping to grow our membership. I’ll also be collaborating with my teammates to improve the member experience and optimize operations, ensuring that everything runs efficiently.
What are some of your personal interests or hobbies outside of work that you’d like the community to know about?
I’m very competitive and enjoy staying active, so in my free time, you can often find me playing recreational soccer, volleyball, or basketball, as well as doing calisthenics. I’m also a big foodie who loves trying new dishes and experimenting in the kitchen. If anyone knows of any great food spots—whether in town or beyond—I’m always up for a new culinary adventure! I am also an avid lover of board and card games.
How can the community best support you in your new role, and what are you looking forward to learning or achieving?
I’m really excited to connect with as many people as possible and build relationships within the community. If we haven’t met yet, I’d love for you to reach out! Whether it’s to chat about the space, share your experiences, or simply introduce yourself, I’m eager to listen and learn from everyone’s perspective.
In this role, I’m also looking forward to learning more about the specific needs of our founders and members, and how we can continue to improve the space to better support them. I hope to contribute to an even more vibrant and collaborative environment, where people feel empowered to take risks, build connections, and grow their ventures. I would appreciate the community’s support by sharing ideas, offering feedback, or simply letting me know what’s working and what could be improved. This will help me grow in my role and ensure that we continue to provide the best possible experience for everyone.
