Job Description: This role is critical to the support, retention, and experience of the Sioux Falls entrepreneurial community and its prospective clients, partners and members. Our small but growing team needs an organized, detail-oriented and energetic team member who can provide strong internal and external customer service with primary responsibilities focused on: facility management, office and executive administration, member and donor fulfillment, and light clerical accounting including: billings, collections and accounts payable, in an effort to aid our operations and advance our mission.

Non-exempt, FT position.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Front Desk and Customer Service: Provide entrepreneurs the positive fuel they need to start their day by acting as the first face and voice for individuals visiting or calling Startup Sioux Falls. Foster a world-class client experience by supporting new member inquiries, onboarding and billing, and manage online meeting room bookings process and assist with room setup as needed.
  2. Facility & Vendor Management: Take pride in the outward appearance of the facility, and maintain well-organized and tidy common areas. Responsible for third party vendors, including but not limited to, outsourced IT services, cleaning, and maintenance.
  3. Partnership Fulfillment Support: Assists the President with correspondence, billing and fulfillment of partner and sponsorship agreements.
  4. Bookkeeping Support: Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, processing incoming and outgoing invoices, cash receipts, payment processing and assist with audits and budgeting, with guidance from a contracted accountant.
  5. Administrative Support: Support Startup Sioux Falls staff in carrying out their primary responsibilities, including, but not limited to: organizing and scheduling meetings for the President and Board of Directors, taking meeting minutes, creating and filing documents, creating internal efficiencies through software and SOP solutions, maintaining office equipment and ordering supplies. Assist in maintaining appropriate insurance, tax filings, registrations, and licensing for the organization. Assist in processing new hire paperwork and other HR administrative items with the support of the Greater Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
  6. Special Projects: At the direction of the President, assists with special projects as needed.
  7. Additional Duties: Assumes additional responsibilities for Startup Sioux Falls as directed by the President.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum of a 2-year college degree completed or in progress. Startup, small business and/or nonprofit experience is beneficial

2. At least two years’ experience in an administrative or reception position and an accounting or operations support position

3. Motivated and able to take direction, problem solve, and ask questions when necessary

4. Experience with event and/or meeting coordination. Nonprofit and board governance experience is a plus. Facility maintenance coordination is a plus.

5. Self-motivated and directed, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously; works well under pressure, research options and exercises good judgment

6. Good interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills

7. Ability to use discretion in handling matters of a confidential nature

8. Experience with Windows operating system as well as Google Suite

9. Experience in and willingness to learn collaboration tools such as: QuickBooks Online, Office RnD, Slack, and similar software platforms.

10. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and in force insurance, with the ability to operate and travel by motor vehicle
